This should give you back your old bookmarks (if you, like me, have about 7000 bookmarks you would hate to lose) Start a fresh chrome tab - to see if it resolved the issue.Ĭlose all instances of chrome again, and find your way back to C:\Users\"UserName"\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data -> find the 'default' folder -> delete any existing 'bookmarks' and 'bookmarks.bak' files there, and copy paste the ones from your backup (located in the default folder as well) straight over into the folder.
