I can tell you that every single area of this museum is loved by our visitors. Each exhibit is steeped in pedagogy, hitting milestones of development and learning for all ages. We do spend an enormous amount of time attending to the details of the museum. Sadly this is not common practice and also sometimes children are harboring viruses before exhibiting symptoms so germs will spread despite our best efforts. We do have a sick child policy in place and encourage people to keep their little ones at home if they seem under the weather. We designed this especially for our working parents in the summer time when children don't have school.Īs the Museum Director, I can personally assure you the the museum is cleaned daily and deep cleaned nightly. Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert has been an institution in the valley (in two different locations) for three decades. A large-scale campaign is launching to engage donors, corporate partners, sponsors and the community. We are grateful to the generous donors who have helped sustain the museum through its closure and throughout the last 22 years. We have a budget of $3million for this first phase and we are counting on our community to help us get there! The space will include creative ways to imagine, express, move, experiment, explore and dream and will be comprised of over 40 new exhibits! Our anticipated opening will be Fall 2023 and is dependent on community support and fabrication. In Phase One we are reimagining Building One to create a brand new, whimsical, creative, exciting space for our 0-8-year-olds. Our goal is to expand our experiences and programming to include all ages and family members.
